          ften it is heard throughout the day “What do I taste in this wine? What aroma do I sense in this wine? What do you put into the wine to make it taste so good?” We say the winemaker, Mike Calabro, adds “his character” to the tastes and the aromas of every wine produced. Which is true in the sense, that every winemaker chooses to make his wines in a certain way that is true to his character and his palate. Two winemakers may start out with grapes from the same vineyard, but that is where it starts and ends. From there the twists and turns that lead to a bottle of wine two years down the line has changed the grape for each winemaker. It is an art, it is science, it is man and mother nature all working together. We welcome you to come taste the fruits of our labor.


Our wines here at Villa di Calabro are produced in small batches or lots from grapes grown in the Temecula Valley. We say our wines are seasonal because we sell out from year to year. In 2008 we purchased the former Santa Margarita Winery in Temecula Valley Wine Country. Established back in 1984 the winery today continues to be small by design. However, our public showcase for our wines, olive oils and vinegars are offered at our beautiful tasting room in Old Town Temecula. We offer wine tasting and wine by the glass and are open seven days a week from 11 ~ 5.
